Letter to CryptoMail Service User

Dear CryptoMail Service User

People in the CryptoMail.org are proud to announce that we will upgrade your web-based secure email account in our CryptoMail Service to use the most advanced CryptoMail Email System, featuring PGP. The upgrade service will integrate the most secure, accepted and reliable encryption scheme in the industry. With the upgraded service, you will be able to use a key management panel to view and post PGP public keys, so you will be able to send a secure email outside the CryptoMail.org domain using PGP. In addition to the benefits from the PGP encryption standard, you will also benefit from many other enhancements in the JavaApplet client.

We have planned for the CryptoMail Service upgrade, since we released the CryptoMail Email System 1.0A last year. We have analyzed our upgrade procedure to ensure the smoothest transition for you. The most critical procedure with the upgrade is the migration from the current system to the upgraded system. After many considerations and assessments, we decided to process the migration in two key phases:

  • Phase I Create new PGP public and private keys.

  • Phase II Move all accounts’ information to the upgraded system.

Our code will migrate your account into the upgraded system, and you need to log in for the migration. During the server side upgrade, you will not be able to access your account for a short period of time, while our website may remain open for you to access and inquire about the upgrade and your account.

We scheduled the migration at the lowest usage of the year, Christmas day, December 25, 12:00am to 4:00am Pacific Time to ensure the most pleasant transition for you. Throughout the migration, we will post a notice in our homepage about the migration progress during the migration.

Best regards,

Joshua Teitelbaum
