Volume 1, Issue 4. May 4, 2002

CryptoMail.org publishes the CryptoMail News-letter to provide information about secure web based email communication.

CodeCon 2002 and Rubi Con 2002

In the past few months, Peter Leung and Joshua Teitelbaum appeared in CodeCon 2002 and Rubi Con 2002, and those conferences were great experiences for people in CryptoMail.org.

In CodeCon 2002, we presented an excellent overview of what CryptoMail.org is about and what CryptoMail Email System can do.  We attached many attentions from IT professionals.  People from other industries are also showing interests in our technology and social benefits that we can offer.

While CodeCon 2002 conference was holding in our hometown, San Francisco, we met many people from around the country, in additional to people from Bay Area.  Becoming one of our highlights in the conference, when our key developer, Joshua met one of his idols, Mr. Phil Zimmermann.  He was overjoyed, with tear in his eyes, while he was picturing with Phil Zimmermann.

On the other hand, Rubi Con 2002 is a distinctive experience for Joshua and me.  We were invited to organizer’s party with staffs and other speakers.  In the party, we discussed topic considerably belong from encryption and had have a good time.  East Coast’s hospitality is much distinct than here, San Francisco, and we were voluminous with the social events that East Coast has offered in Rubi Con.

Our audiences in Rubi Con 2002 are well perceived our messages, though we have some technical difficulties during our presentation.  We gain significant amount of information about our users during the conferences.  Some IT professions have chosen CryptoMail Email System for their clients as a way of secures e-mail system in their corporation environments.

People from CryptoMail.org would like to give many thanks to Bram Cohen from CodeCon and Denis BaldwinIn from Rubi Con for inviting us to present CryptoMail Email System in both conferences.

Java Plug-In Problem (follow up)

Because of some issues with Windows NT Service Pack 6 (see Microsoft.com knowledge base, article Q245678), the Java Plug-in will not load CryptoMail Email Client (see last News Letter for detail information).  Recently, we also found some issues that related to Java Plug-In 1.3.x and 1.4.x.

This Java Plug-In problem only effect to people who are using Netscape 6.x and Mozilla 0.9.x as their web browser client for the CryptoMail Email Client.

According to our chief developer, CryptoMail Email Client is designed to run with Java Plug-In 1.1 which is standard for all Microsoft Internet Explorer and Netscape Communicator 4.x.  So far, we found that you would not be able to send attachments in your Email message by using Java Plug-In 1.3.x and 1.4.x.

In the next coming release of CryptoMail Email System, we may include the support of Java Plug-In 1.3.x and about.

Users Q&A

Q: Does CryptoMail Email Service has any maximum amount of storage for all its e-mail accounts?  What is the maximum amount of storage?  Is there any restriction on any E-mail account as "deleting users after not logging in for a month"?

A: Currently, we provide a quota of 5MB for each E-mail account.  You will be prevented from doing any action, when you use more than 5MB of storage in your e-mail account.  We strongly encourage you to empty your Trash Folder to regain your account’s storage.

CryptoMail.org does not have any barbaric customs aforementioned that may preventing you to use our free services at this time.  However, when space/resources become too scarce such that we are no longer to provide additional services to all people, we may consider implying some restriction on newly or currently E-mail accounts in our server.
