CryptoMail.org publishes the CryptoMail News-letter to provide information about secure web based email communication.
Email Client for Mac
CryptoMail.org is pleased to announce that many of our CryptoMailers have used our new secure web based email client (Java Applet) on their Apple Power Mac without any problems for several months. Wow, we are a year ahead of our Mac release schedule.
Now, you will be able to use our CryptoMail Email Client and Service in Netscape Navigator and Microsoft Internet Explorer web browser for MacOS. Due to some limitation in Java Applet and Mac, you will need to download and install the MacOS Runtime for Java (MRJ) from the MRJ Plugin Home homepage at the Mozilla.org before using the CryptoMail Email Client.
Here, we would like to give many thanks to the Center For Electronic Art in San Francisco for their computer donation (Mac software and workstation) that allows our developers to make our email client available to the general public.
Service Sign Up New Feature
Developers in CryptoMail.org added a new feature in our service sign up procedure (not available in our older public release). It allows users to add their options such as the Personal Name option and the Page Address option during the sign up procedure, so the users do not need to set up their options after signing up.
The Personal Name option allows you to place your name or nickname, so people can easily identify you in the email. The Page Address option lets you enter an email address (e.g. email pager or cellar Internet phone) to notify you, when a new message is arrived in your CryptoMail Email account.
Because most users might not be aware of or did not remember to setup the User Options, our developers place the User Options setup during the sign up procedure. Educating our users to make good use of our services, we hope that we can remind some users to put their name in the Personal Name option and an email address in the Page Address option.
Website Updates
Our webmaster added footer navigation links to our website to make jumping from sections to sections easier. We also added new information in our homepage to interact with Mac users. You can go to our System Requirements for latest information about running the CryptoMail Email Client on Mac. Finally, we make several corrections in our pages to ensure correctness of our information.
Users Q&A
Q: What should I do if my modem dial-up connection is disconnected while I am trying to Sign Up, Login or Change Passphase?
A: You should connect to CryptoMail.org and use the Sign Up form, Login form or Change Passphase form to continue your work.
However, disconnected unexpectedly from the CryptoMail Email Server during the Change Passphase process, you may not be able to login to your account with your new passphase. In this case, you should try to login to your account with your old passphase.
