Welcome to the CryptoMail Service, CryptoMail.org would like to present you with the most reliable and trustable Email service on the Internet, hopefully the last Email account you ever need to sign up to. Using our service, you will able to send and receive Email from a web browser, and you are also protected by the highest security implementation of an Email system. The CryptoMail Users Manual is an informative user guide to the CryptoMail Service, with the main purpose of getting new users acquainted to using the key features of our Email client, the CryptoMail Client. By providing comprehensive information and helpful examples, we will place you in the driver seat of the most secure web based Email system on the Internet with minimum reading and instruction.

In this manual, you will learn to do the following:

  • Sign up to an Email account in all the CryptoMail System or other CryptoMail system,
  • Login to your Email account
  • Compose, send, read and reply to your Email messages by using the client,
  • Manage your Email account by organizing your Email messages into folders.

1.2 The CryptoMail Email System and The CryptoMail Service

The CryptoMail Email System and the CryptoMail Service are the results of the commitment in CryptoMail.org, maintaining a community where programmers who share our vision, give the most accessible, reliable and secure communication tools to people.

The CryptoMail Email System is a client and server Email application with security at the transport level and end-to-end message encryption to ensure the highest security implementation of an Email system, while the CryptoMail Service is a name given to any secure web based Email services that use our Email system to host and to maintain your Email account.

1.3 Application Features

The key feature of the CryptoMail Service is its web based Email client application that provides a ubiquitous user interface for users to conduct and manage their Email business over the Internet with a Java enabled web browser

Most often, you will use the Email client to read and write your Email. Luckily, the Email client provides plenty of Email features for you to finish your Email fast and easily. Here are the key features of the Email client:

  • Compose a new message.
  • Send and receive messages within the same servers or over the Internet.
  • Send messages to single or multiple addresses.
  • Read, edit, send and receive attachments in a message.
  • Maintain a copy of sent items and message into a folder automatically.
  • Forward messages to a single or multiple addresses.
  • Reply to messages to a sender or all senders.
  • Read, edit, save, delete, copy and move any message..
  • Automatically recycle deleted messages in the trash bin.
  • View the encrypted form of messages.

After a few months of Emailing, you might find your mail box filled with Email messages. Thus, we designed many features of our Email client to help you managing your Email account effectively and effortlessly. Here are the key features:

  • Default Inbox, Trash, Drafts and Sent-items folders.
  • Create new folders with long folder name.
  • Rename and delete folders.

1.4 System Requirements

The CryptoMail Service is able to provide its service to users with very little computing resources. Basically, you will need a Java enabled web browser and an Internet (TCP/IP) connection. However, you should have a system that meets the minimum system requirements, and you will find better experiences with our services.

Minimum System Requirements

  • i586 100MHz or equivalent computing power.
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 with 128-bit Secure Sockets Layer (Windows 95, 98 and NT).
  • Netscape Communicator 4.0 with 128-bit Secure Sockets Layer (Linux, Windows 95, 98 and NT).
  • 16-colors display adapter at 800x600 resolution.
  • TCP/IP connection over 56Kbps connection

Recommended System Requirements

  • i586 200MHz and better computing power.
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 and later with 128-bit Secure Sockets Layer (Windows 95, 98 and NT).
  • Netscape Communicator 4.06 and later with 128-bit Secure Sockets Layer (Linux, Windows 95, 98 and NT).
  • 256-colors display adapter at 800x600 resolution or better.
  • TCP/IP connection over DSL or faster connection.

1.5 Documentation Conventions

Occasionally, the CryptoMail Users Manual will point to information outside this document, or this manual will use different vocabularies to refer to the same terminology. Generally, conventions are used to keep readers aware of some important information..

BOLD Used to refer to another key word or terminology in a section. For example, the bold text of the function inside the double quote is being refer by the function on the right side.
Italics Used to show a quote or an example of the Email client. For example, an encrypted message that is used as an example will be shown as fwr2ws3qvtmdfzif64v.
Underline Used to highlight an important message. For example, cannot login without passphrase is used to highlight the importance of remembering one's passphrase.
(text) Used to provide additional information or describes the words next to it. For example, (Windows 95, 98 and NT) next to the system requirement of IE describes the computer platforms in which the IE can be run on.
"function" Used to represent the specific function or/and window title message of the Email client. For example, "Reply To All" is a function of the Email client and is the text shown on the window title.
<variable> Used to mark the variable for an user input. For example, <host_name> represents a host name variable such as www.cryptomail.org.
